In 2026, the National Alcohol and Drugs Information System (LADIS) celebrates its 40th anniversary. For four decades, LADIS has brought together data on addiction care in the Netherlands and provided valuable insights into trends and developments related to alcohol, drugs, and other forms of addiction.
To mark this milestone, we have prepared a special anniversary publication. In this edition, we look back on forty years of LADIS and the developments within the field of addiction care. Through interviews, historical perspectives, statistics, and expert insights, we highlight the history and significance of LADIS.
The publication not only reflects on the past but also demonstrates the continuing importance of reliable nationwide information systems for addiction care, both now and in the future.
